The Howard Convent School aims at offering all our students a broad and balanced curriculum that provides rewarding and stimulating activities to prepare them for the best social and cultural life.

Junior Classes

Doing is learning,” is the motto which forms the cornerstone of the curriculum followed in the nursery section. The curriculum is so much necessary raw material, but warmth is the vital element for the growing plant and for the soul of the child. Each and every child entrusted to our care is treasured and nurtured, encouraged and appreciated, enabling him to blossom into a young enthusiastic learn.

Children, especially under the age of six, have an innate path of psychological development. Nursery education lays emphasis on independence, freedom within limits, and respects a child’s natural psychological development. The curriculum stresses on developing the following skills
• Language, Literacy and Communication Skills
• Mathematical Development
• Bilingualism and Multi-cultural Understanding
• Knowledge and Understanding of the World
• Physical Development
•Creative Development

The instructional plan incorporates the teaching of English, Number Work / Math, Hindi, Environment Studies / Social Studies, Science, Computer, Art & Craft, G.K,Games, Movements, Physical Education, Music (Indian & Western) and Eurhythmics and also provides ample scope for incidental learning through Library, Museum, Audio – Visual aids, field trips and excursions. A third language i.e. Urdu / Sanskrit is added at the class V level. Introduction on spenish as third language, is under consideration.

The instructional programme includes General Science as Physics, Chemistry and Biology, Social Studies as history / Civics and Geography / Disaster Management, Life Skills, Mathematics, English, Hindi. The third language ends in class VIII. Remedial teaching is also incorporated at this level. Work Experience, Art and Physical Education are a part of the curriculum and are graded periodically. Education Programme is supported through reinforcement in areas through technology-aided-learning and activities in mathematics, science, language like Hindi, English, Urdu and Sanskrit. Audio – Visual support and Museum are an integral part of the educational programme.

The instructional programme includes Science (Physics, Chemistry and Biology), Mathematics, Social Science (History, Geography, Civics and Economics, Disaster Management) Environmental Education besides English and 2nd Language (Hindi), Skill based Information Technology, Health and work education are also an integral part of the curriculum. Educational support programme like Mathematics Practical, Outdoor Project Trips and other reinforcement areas of learning are in strict conformity with the Central Board of Secondary Educational, Delhi.

SENIOR SECONDARY CLASSES

The academics programme at the Senior Secondary Follow curriculum prescribed by the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi. Students are required to study any one of the following streams and subjects offered.
